Park Night
Sometimes it is just nice to go to the park. It was about 100* here today and I had 5 tired kids so we spend most of the day in the house "resting". Well, by the time dinner rolled around everyone was starting to feel antsy so I rounded up the troops and headed to the park. Our parks are being threatened by budget cuts and it will be a real shame to see them go if that is what it comes to. There is something so peaceful about being at the park. Maybe it is just nostalgia or exhaustion but sitting on a park bench on a warm evening while the kids frolic (yes, I said it, frolic) is just so serene. The rode scooters and big wheels, played on the slide, made a sand castle (more of an anthill but who cares?), rode swings and ran on the miles of lawn (do you remember how HUGE the park grass was when you were little?)with huge smiles on their faces. It was a good night, no fighting, no injuries and no tears. It was a good night, a picture worthy night and if all goes well a good video night too!
PS - when we came home I got the twins bathed and then started to get the big kids going on showers. When I came out from the back of the house a twinado had struck my livingroom...I hope the video turns out, I did not have great lighting!

Oh, Good Lord, they are too cute! Seriously!
ReplyDeleteAt least Ysa knows when she's ignoring you. That's one phase you'll just fly right thru when she's 16! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOH my goodness that video was so sweet!!! They talk so cute! You are such a good mom. I don't know how you do it all with 5 kids! Great post and great pictures.
ReplyDeleteThose videos are priceless!!!! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteLoving Ysa's reply to "Are you ignoring me?" When my sister was 4 my mom took her to the dr. to have her hearing checked. My sister told the dr., "Sometimes I ignore" when he announced he couldn't find anything wrong. It's amazing my sister lived to have to children of her own. I thought my mom was going to explode!!!!
