Oakland Zoo day

I decided to take the kids to the Oakland Zoo on MLK day. Bryan had to work and we didn't want to sit at home all day so we packed up the car and headed out. I was very excited because 1. we love going to the zoo and 2. I was getting to meet my friend Janie and her kids - she has twins too! It was a pretty good trip over, the twins fell asleep and the older kids watched a movie. When we got there we met Janie and a few of her kids. Unfortunately her oldest was not feeling well so she couldn't stay long. We did get to have a snack on a bench and watch the twins play. I think some of the zoo goers thought we were an attraction - twin wild kingdom! We got to chat for a few minutes and then we walked them out to the gate. It was a short but very sweet visit! Then we went back to the zoo and started our safari. We saw flamingos, otters, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and so much more! The kids were all so well behaved! We left the zoo and headed for home.It really was a great day.

  1. Caryn, what a fun day! We love the Oakland zoo too, but I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to try it right now. You are such an inspiration! I hope I'm as active of a mom as you are as the kids get older.
